As part of our 3 month tour of Western Scotland, in the van, we spent a couple of weeks in the Torridon area. As like a number of locations we visited, it’s an area I really want to go back to and explore further.
The weather was changeable, and by that I mean the rain and wind went from wet and windy to biblical and hurricane force, however from time to time the light did play ball, and when it did it was simply magical.
I spent quite a bit of time driving up and down the road between Torridon and Kinlochewe, the XT2 / 18-135 in my lap, just watching how the light danced across the mountains which seemed to explode directly upwards from the ground in front of me.
Oh and of course there were plenty of unicorn moments, normally about 5 minutes before some more of that biblical weather engulfed me.
There’s something wonderful, almost hypnotic, watching brief moments of lights move across the side of a mountain and in fact on a number of occasions I could barely bring my eye to the viewfinder so transfixed was I on the view in front of me
