Quite an interesting day today. Was out and about in Cambridge trying to capture some of the autumnal colour this morning when I noticed an upturned kayak in the river, which actually seemed in reasonable condition. I thought I'd be safe than sorry and called it in with the police who said given there was no obvious splashing around in the water (or body) they would be down when they could. (I checked back with the porter around 3 hours later and still no sign of them - good job there was no body)
Anyway, while taking some images of leaf litter (god I'm exciting) a mother shouted at me that I better not be taking photographs of her kids. Without thinking the words were out of my mouth before I could stop them.
"Why the hell would I want to take photos of those two - they aren't particularly photogenic"
Let's just say some mothers really can have a bit of a potty mouth on them. Oh well. I left her alone to continue her rant but did stop about 50 yards away to take my time looking at nothing in particular - you know, just to help fuel the rant.
Ended up this afternoon shooting a job in Cambridge to launch the Poppy Appeal in Town - around 50 thousand poppy petals dropped from the towers on Great St. Marys. Quite spectacular although they really need to work on the drop as around 48 thousand of them fell as one and almost clobbered those (including me) below. Loved how this member of the publics white shoes contrasted against the red petals on the street.
Now planning for my weekend football with Arsenal v Everton on the agenda.
